Downtown Sip N Shop

The Downtown Sip N Shop is another opportunity for businesses to stay open late and shoppers to visit stores they have not been in before.

Shoppers grab a passport from their favorite store or begin their event at the NECD located at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. It's a great evening meandering around town and sipping on the various options offered by our merchants. Shoppers return their passports to the NEDC for a chance to win prizes. There is always music and an activity in the arts center.

Shop Small Saturday/Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday, which takes place on the Saturday after thanksgiving encourages consumers to support local businesses by shopping small. American Express launched this shopping holiday in 2010, at the height of the Great Recession, as a way of redirecting holiday shopping to local stores. A decade later, it’s observed in all 50 states, and in 2011, the Senate passed a resolution recognizing Small Business Saturday.

Our small businesses in downtown are the heart and soul of our community and Nazareth celebrates small in a big way. The NEDC partners with the Nazareth Farmers Market, Nazareth Center for the Arts and the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce for a holiday season long shopping event.

We kick off with a special edition of the Nazareth Farmers Market by inviting additional vendors to bring their wares to downtown. Our downtown shops offer specials and promotions all season long. There is music, prizes, activities and raffles throughout the day.
Follow our social media for details of this years event.

Nazareth Days/Nazareth at Night

This weekend long celebration of the founding of our borough is a long standing tradition in the community. The event begins on Friday with sidewalk sales, specials and przes and and an evening block party on Belvidere Street filled with music, food and craft vendors and wells as kids activities. The fun continues on Saturday in Nazareth Borough Park with music, vendors, activities galore and the Nazareth Farmers Market Saturday in the circle. Organized by the Nazareth Days Committee in cooperation with the NEDC this event attracts residents and visitors alike. The weekent ends in a spectacular fashion with a fireworks display.

The Great Nazareth Cookie Stroll

The Great Nazareth Cookie Stroll began in 2018 during the Shop Small Saturday event as a way to encourage shoppers to visit businesses in the downtown. Cookie strollers would purchase a cookie box at the Nazareth Farmers Market. They would also receive a list and map of participating businesses. They would then stroll through town picking up a cookie at each stop. At the end of the day participants may have a full box of delicious cookies to take home or may have a belly full of delicious cookies.

Either way, this event has grown tremendously and the event has sold out each year. In 2021 all 84 cookie boxes were sold out within 1 hour. In 2022 strollers were lined up an hour before the start of the event and purchased all 120 available cookie boxes.
